Most organisations have in place some form of back up for sensitive mission critical data on their network. Often this may rely on tape; or more enlightened companies may have chosen greater speed, flexibility and reliability in the form of disc based remote back up.

One area of I.T. infrastructure which is routinely disregarded however is remote or portable machines such as laptops or desktops for home workers. These devices are rarely connected to the network at a time when a scheduled back up will occur and data is rarely transferred to the network in order to be safeguarded.

SOLSIS REMOTE is a local client based service that performs automatic, scheduled or manual backups of data from laptop/desktop and other mobile devices in the field. Data is compressed, packaged and securely encrypted before it leaves the local machine and will transmit effectively over the slowest of internet connections.

  • AUTOMATED OFFSITE BACKUP – The essence of SOLSIS REMOTE is that it automatically backs up data to an offsite Datacentre. The system is fully automatic and so human intervention is not required for this process to operate.
  • OPTIMIZED FOR BROADBAND – Rather than sending full data files with each back up; SOLSIS REMOTE sends the full file once then only sends the changes from within modified files making it possible to transmit larger data volumes than normal on slower connections.
  • CENTRALISED ADMINISTRATION – For ease of implementation, GROUP POLICIES can be set at an administrative level across all accounts so once configured, no further intervention is required. Policies controlling all functionality can be set and controlled by a central administrator avoiding the need for complicated individual builds and settings.
  • DATA ENCRYPTION– BLOWFISH 448Bit ENCRYPTION secures all data prior to it leaving the local machine and continues to store in this format until the data is fully restored.
  • EASE OF USE– Very simple, intuitive interface, with all major tasks performed via a wizard. Quick select – Allows file types to be selected en masse by file type to avoid having to select each individual file.
  • FLEXIBLE DATA HISTORIES – Files can be backed up and held for up to 999 months, however it is common to hold 30 or 60 days of history.
  • SIMPLE TO RESTORE – Multiple files are kept in history with a simple “three click” restore.
  • FULLY AUTOMATED – The local client runs as a service so no need to be logged on, or connected to a web portal.
  • COMPREHENSIVE REPORTING – Email reporting informs users of back up activity and storage quota usage automatically.
